Designed by Smith and Williams of Pasadena, the Music Building opens with a recital hall seating 150, a music library, classrooms, practice rooms, and faculty offices. The hall is named in honor of pianist Lee Pattison, or βMr. Patβ to students, a ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄ professor of music. The Caster Music Library is a memorial to J. Edward Caster, a ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄ professor of music, and to Doris Caster, director of the Choral Club. The Richardson Dance Studio opens, named for Beatrice E. Richardson, the first professor of dance at ΒιΆΉΤ΄΄. Longtime trustee Lucille Phillips Morrison funds the project; Smith and Williams also design the dance studio.
